Just back from a cross country skiing and snow shoeing holiday, but actually the best day was spent down hill skiing where I braced myself and completed a Red Run and five hours on a snow mobile (a motor bike on skis) tremendous fun. But I can see why I was never allowed as a youngster (thankfully), to ride a motorbike on the road! I would either have been a world champion or been pushing up the daisies. 

I had hoped to get back for Cabinet but father had been hospitalised in Kent and so I diverted to see him, thankfully finding him improving. 

But did get back for a briefing by the NORSE (Norfolk County Council companies) Directors on current issues. Reached home that evening with some trepidation about how high the pile of mail would be, not to mention the emails.

Saturday 7 March

Off to lunch at North Walsham Rugby Club who are playing Jersey. But I leave before the game as I’m going to see Tina Turner at the O2.

– By all accounts I got the better deal, as we were badly beaten.

Tina was amazing, it’s the third time I’ve seen her.

I chair the Finance Committee at Reepham High School. We’re currently meeting monthly because we’re delighted to be overseeing progress on our new Sixth Form and budget. We’re opening this in August 2009 and expect to have 130 new sixth formers in September.
